The classic ten day Annapurna Sanctuary trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal luring intrepid hikers looking to "bag" their first base camp without having to climb to an excessively high altitude.
The trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary traverses a variety of terrain, from lowland villages and rice field terraces to glaciers and offers outstanding high mountain views.
You can make the trek from Pokhara to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and back in few days about 10 days, but it’s best to allow two weeks for fully appreciate the high-altitude scenery. And you can combine it include Ghorepani Pooni trek the most famous one in Nepal. For that it would be better idea to the Poon hill trek first (for better acclimatize) then continue to Annapurna Sanctuary.

If you have longer time, then you start it in Nayapul Birethanti – Ghorepani – Poon hill – Chhomrong – ABC – Chhomrong – Jhinu the hot spring – Lanadruk – Tolka – Phedi – Pokhara.

SUMMARY: Trek through typical Gurung villages, then climb through forest into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a valley surrounded by high Himalayan peaks. This trek offers a great opportunity to get into the mountains without the altitude problems as in the Everest region.

• Stunning mountain scenery at every stage of the trek.

• First views of Machapuchare, the fish tail mountain, which is truly spectacular from any angle.

• Visiting ethnic Gurung villages both poor and prosperous such as Ghandrung made wealthy by the pensions from Gurkhas of the British Army.

• Waking up to a hot mug of tea or coffee from a smiling Nepalese tea boy.

• Avoiding leeches in the damp forest areas!

Quiet contemplation on reaching the heart of the Sanctuary, surrounded by some of the most beautiful snow capped peaks in the world.

This is a most sincere recommendation for Prem, the owner/manager of Raniban Treks and Expeditions of Lake Side, Baidam-6, Pokhara, Nepal.

Last year my wife and I had just completed a six week tour of Tibet and Nepal. We decided to spend our last remaining week in Pokhara, in the shadow of the impressive Annapurna Ranges. I had not originally intended to trek on this occasion. But the beauty of the area and the mountains convinced me to change my plans at short notice, and take the opportunity while it was offering. At 72 years old, I felt I might not get another chance! I eventually extended my stay in Nepal and did an 11 day trek up to Annapurna Sanctuary (Annapurna South Base Camp - colloquially known as ABC). The trek took me up 10,000ft in 5 days, with an extended trek back through the foothills to Pokhara. The whole trip was a brilliant experience.

I became acquainted with Prem through an American Baptist Missionary whom we met in the main street of Pokhara. We were discussing the area - where to go, what to see and trekking options. After giving me some helpful advice, he suggested that I speak to Prem of Raniban Tours if I wished to proceed with a trekking expedition. This advice was invaluable.

Prem gave me an excellent run-down on the Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Sanctuary and a range of other walks. He also gave me a wealth of good advice regarding weather conditions, temperature, clothing, equipment, food, drinking water, accommodation and trekking permits required. When I decided to do the Annapurna Sanctuary trek, he rapidly organised an outstanding guide - Nara, and lent me a sleeping bag. In 36 hours I was organised, equipped and off 'up the hill'. But not before I had failed to extract any cash out of the ATMs in Lake Side. These had either run out of money (a Hindu festival was in progress) or would not accept my Visa Card. In these embarrassing circumstances, Prem was trusting enough to make me a loan until I arrived back in Pokhara!

I have nothing but praise for Prem's professionalism, helpfulness and personality. Apart from some wonderful trekking, my memory of Nepal is more enjoyable for having known him, his wife Maina and son Shyam. We still keep in touch, and I may well be back in the Annapurnas in the future!

It is owned by three professional trekking guides (Prem, Sukra and Maina) in Pokhara. They are more than one and half decade experienced in trek and tour leading throughout the Himalayas of Nepal. Prem is one of the NATT~book (New/Natural Annapurna Trekking Trail) writers with Andrees de Ruiter in Germany,

PNT is a big different than other trekking agencies in Nepal, how?

I've seen many agency or company owners and managers in Nepal, who have never been to Annapurna or Everest; still designing your program!!

Our agency manager Sukra Rai is a most competent trekking guide as well, that’s why he has all kind of knowledge regarding the trek and tour including NATT. Therefore; three of us can design all your programs and lead the tour is a perfect combination.

Our staffs are well trained; most of them are involved marking and finding the NATT trails including the Annapurna Seven Passes Trek, North Annapurna Base Camp, newly designed the Lalupate Trail and all major treks in Nepal. They are well equipped and ensured with their insurance. Also most of them are skilled with Massage Therapy; during the trip if anyone requested for it, they may easily available. To entertain clients, they can perform singing and dancing as well as few of them can play bamboo flute and Nepali traditional drum. Most of them are English speaking, few of them can speak Korean and Chinese.

Also our team is working for EEF (earthquake emergency fund), and delivered many relief aids to the affected families mainly in Gorkha and Dhading. We have built 8 houses in Gorkha and handover for the families who did lost homes from the last earthquakes in Nepal.

It is owned by the professional trekking guides and NATT (New/Natural Annapurna Trekking Trail) book writer in Nepal. You totally get here a family environment. There are 6 rooms on rent. Four of them for couple, one twin bed and one single. Every room has private porch, cupboard, 24 hour hot shower with the attached bath and toilet and free Wi-Fi service. It's good to sit at the peaceful roof-top garden with the dramatic view of the para-glider over Sarangkot and the background scenery of Machhapuchre Himal including the surrounding green hills, villages, the Fewa Lake and the Stupa (World Peace Pegoda) in the west.

It is located at Lakeside - 6, Khahare Marga (street no: 19) near the Khahare Chowk (about 300 meters far from the lake shore), same building of Fishtail Paragliding and you can Google PREMS NEPAL TREK right behind the hotel Mandap and Tropicana.

Also a perfect guest house for the budget travellers. On request we prepare Nepali breakfast and if anyone interested for a short cooking course of Nepali Thali (veg and none-veg) you can learn and cook it yourself with us at our kitchen.

Still Maina's "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN MASSAGE" therapy service is available on request.
